Friday evening, October 3, the Dark Skies organization and the Sangre Stargazers Club are jointly sponsoring a presentation titled "How to Buy a Telescope" that will be followed by a star party where the public is welcome to view the crescent moon, Jupiter, and many other astronomical objects. Local amateur astronomer, Ed Stewart, will demonstrate the various designs with member's telescopes, noting the many choices and decisions to be made to select the best one for a particular individual. If the weather permits, these same telescopes can be used by the attendees at the star party. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Room of Cliff Lanes at the west end of Main Street. The star party will follow about 8:00 p.m. across the intersection on the Event Field apron along Adams Blvd. To see the lecture notes, click here. Below is a photo from a previous presentation:
